A Letter from Dan & Shannon
We are a faith-filled, fun-loving couple who promise to provide a child or children with a safe, warm, and joyful home. We have not been able to have children naturally, so we are looking forward to this adoption journey.
We will provide your child(ren) the best we have to offer: a lifetime of love and protection, rich opportunities for education and travel, a supportive extended family, and most of all, the values of strong, unwavering faith in our almighty God. We hope and pray to hear from you!
Since we were married in 2012, we’ve created a home full of faith, love, and laughter with our black lab, Nellie.
Some of our favorite hobbies are praying throughout every day, spending time with family and friends, cheering on our favorite teams, and traveling together. We enjoy spending time in the outdoors by gardening or kayaking and serving in our church ministries. A perfect evening for us is a quiet one in together or with our wonderful family and friends. We are so excited to share our joy for life and home with a child!
Dan is patient, faithful, and funny. He has a strong work ethic, a passion for family, and a desire to enjoy life to the fullest. Dan recently started working at a new law firm after eight years of practice.
He is an avid outdoorsman who loves hunting, fishing, and woodworking (he built our dining room table!), which he is looking forward to sharing with our child. I greatly admire his quiet strength and how much people love being in his presence. He has the ability to see the good in all people. He is truly a man of God and a great leader in our home. I am blessed to be his wife and am excited to watch him be a father.
Shannon is a blessing to me and everyone that she encounters. First and foremost, she is devoted to her faith. Every night when I come home from work, she has an excellent dinner ready. Shannon is passionate about her profession as is a high school theology teacher.
Shannon loves without limits and inspires others to do the same. She talks to her sister every day, we visit her family regularly, and her face lights up when she sees her nieces and nephew. She loves to cook, run, and volunteer for our local community. She makes our home warm and cozy, always doing thoughtful things and welcoming all with open arms. I am so excited for the day when her lifelong dream comes true: she becomes a mother!
Our family is paramount! Spending holidays, birthdays, and evenings with our loved ones is one of our favorite past times. Both of us come from large families, so we will provide your child with a family that will shower your child with love, stability, protection, and encouragement! They have taught and continue to teach us how to be faithful, generous, and kind, which are lessons that we hope to pass on to our children.
Our home state of Louisiana has a unique, fun, faith-filled, and family-friendly environment. We celebrate life with lively music, delicious food, and family-friendly festivals. Our hometown was named the happiest city in the nation in 2014!
We are nestled in a quaint neighborhood surrounded by helpful and caring neighbors who have small children. Our backyard hosts a vegetable garden, a great patio and deck, and lots of room for a child to play. Loved ones gather in our home often for a good meal, great company, and lots of laughs. It is a perfect place for your child to thrive!
We promise your child a family that will love and celebrate him or her; a home where faith is practiced and laughter is abundant; parents who will nurture, protect, and shower your child with love; and a life that is full of great educational opportunities and enriching travel. |More About Our Family|
Opportunities we will offer
Education is so important and we both have an advanced degree. Our degrees allow us to do the things we enjoy most and we believe we make a difference in our community. Part of our education is experiencing the world around us. We travel as often as we can. Weekends are often spent exploring the great state of Louisiana and its beauty. Summer vacations take us around the United States and across the globe. Beach vacations with extended family give the opportunity to relax.
We are practicing Christians, and faith is very important to each of us. It's not something that we practice just on Sunday mornings but molds all that we do in life. Our heartfelt desire is to pass on our faith to our children. Our parents taught us the importance of faith, and we want to teach our children the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. Service is an important part of faith. Shannon serves at the local homeless shelter on Tuesday evenings and we enjoy putting Dan's woodworking skills to work. We have been blessed and try to share our blessings!
Our Musical Interest
We are country music lovers! Born and raised in the South, we love the twang and the message of classic country music. Often times Saturday nights are spent with a Sonic milkshake and a drive around town as we listen to Classic Country Saturday Nights. We also enjoy Cajun, blues, and soul music, as it is a deep part of our culture. No festival is complete without a rendition of a Louis Armstrong classic or a band with a washboard player.
Home Sweet Home
Our house has truly become a home. It is a place where all are welcome and good meals are enjoyed. There's plenty of room for your child to play. With over half an acre, the backyard has plenty of space for children to run and play. Evenings are best spent enjoying the screened-in patio, whether we are having dinner or taking in a sunset.
We live in the state of...
Louisiana is a special place. The people are kind, the culture is festive, and the food is delicious. We love calling Louisiana home and take every opportunity to enjoy its treasures. We hope to soon share our special place with a child or children. So many yummy foods, so many fun festivals, so much beauty. Our extended family also lives in Louisiana, which is why we intend to keep this state our permanent home.
What we hope to share
Life is meant to be lived and shared, so we take every opportunity to live the life we have been given and share our gifts with others. Faith is a part of our everyday lives. We are actively involved in service to the community and church. We also enjoy sports, travel, and the outdoors. When the weather is nice, we take advantage of the beauty of our surroundings. We enjoy kayaking, gardening, picnicking and attending sporting events.
