A Letter from Ed & Kathleen

Hi! We are a devoted and faithful couple who love celebrating the special moments in life. Our 12 nieces and nephews would say we are the “fun aunt and uncle,” although becoming a mom and dad ourselves has been a dream we’ve shared from the beginning of our relationship. We are avid sports fans, former athletes, and like to maintain an active lifestyle. After going through infertility and feeling a call to adoption, we found out this year that Kathleen is pregnant. With a baby due early 2024, we’re still ready and excited about growing our family through adoption. It would be a dream come true to raise children close in age too! We’d love to get to know you and hear about the hopes you have for your child’s future.

About Us

How we met, as told by Kathleen: We met each other in 2016 at a local hang out space. I introduced myself and we spent the rest of the night talking. We quickly found out that we attended the same church and had very similar upbringings, lifestyles, and interests. I even told my twin sister that night that I had met the man I was going to marry! Now we’ve been married over three years.

Things we love to do together:
• Travel leisurely or as missionaries throughout the United States and abroad
• Cook new recipes during the weekdays and eat out at restaurants on the weekends
• Root for Ed’s father’s high school football team at Friday night games
• Maintain active lifestyles through 5k races and morning “coffee walks” along various trails

Meet Kathleen

Kathleen shows she is devoted by her loyalty to her family by always lending a hand to babysit, pick a niece or nephew up from school, or being there for me. She is a part-time oncology nurse and works in an outpatient cancer center. She is incredibly affectionate and knows how to make others feel special and loved. She cares for our niece, Kathleen’s twin sister’s daughter, when she is not working. She will be an excellent mother!

Meet Ed

I love the way Ed carries himself with confidence and exudes the kind of strength I’ve always wished for in a husband and future father. He is kind, gentle, and very social. As a young kid, he played football, baseball, and basketball and is always up for shooting hoops with our nieces and nephews. Ed helps with youth sports and also refs high school football during the fall. He’s great at encouraging youth.

Our Home in Pennsylvania

We live in a suburb in Pennsylvania, not too far from the city. We have a nice backyard with a screened in porch where we like to have our morning coffee and dinner together.

Our neighborhood is family-friendly and we live across the street from a park with a playground, baseball and football fields, and a basketball court. We go to the park often to watch our nieces and nephews play little league sports. Kathleen grew up in the area and has many childhood friends who have returned to settle down and raise their families. We are just a couple hours from the beach and the mountains for a vacation or weekend getaway.

Our Family

We both come from big families! Kathleen grew up in a big Irish family with five siblings and 43 cousins! Four of her siblings live in the immediate area and her youngest sister lives in California. Kathleen’s parents live within walking distance.. We love going on vacations to the beach with extended family.

Ed has four siblings and 10 cousins! His siblings and parents live in the surrounding area and neighboring county. His family is of Lebanese descent and they incorporate many dishes for holiday meals and family gatherings. We love having Christmas Eve dinner at Ed’s aunt and uncle’s house every year!

Our Promise

We can’t wait to do Sunday dinners, Friday night football games, and family vacations to the beach with our children one day. It would be an honor and joy to share our love of sports, our supportive family, and our love for God with your child.

We will raise your child to know how much you mean to us and to embrace our family’s adoption story. If you’re comfortable, we’d look forward to an open adoption where your child can understand where he or she came from. We will always speak of you out of love and help your child see the beauty of adoption. We promise to bring happiness, joy, and love to your child.

Thank you for considering us as possible parents for your child. We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. To learn more about us, please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Our Hobbies

• Kathleen enjoys reading with her book club, watching sports, running, shopping (any excuse to browse Hobby Lobby or Home Goods!), and cooking new recipes.

• Ed enjoys watching baseball, playing basketball on a recreational league, cooking, yardwork, and traveling.

Why We Want to Adopt

Our greatest dream is to raise a family! We've gone through infertility and our hearts were led to adoption through it all. It surprised us both to find out this year that Kathleen is pregnant, due January 2024. We'd love to raise children close in age and our desire to adopt a child remains strong. We're ready and excited to welcome a boy or girl of any racial background into our family through adoption!

Fun Facts

• Kathleen is a twin and twins run in her family! She's also very funny; Kathleen's family love how she tells stories and does impressions of loved ones for a giggle.

• Ed and a few of his friends from high school are on a quest to see all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums. So far they've been to 23!

Family Traditions

We like to spend the Fourth of July with Ed’s extended family and watch the parade march through town from his aunt’s front porch.

Since we live really close to our family, we hold an annual St. Patrick’s Day family tradition called “The Shamrock Shuffle.” We spend a day walking house to house, listening to Irish music, and eating signature dishes.
