Hello! We are excited to become first-time parents through adoption. We have been married for almost 9 years now and really desire to have a family. Your child will be loved and welcomed into our family!
We will raise our child with strong Christian values. We enjoy ice fishing and snowshoeing in the winter months, and in the summer we love to bike, camp, explore our state parks, and spend time on the pontoon at the lake with our family. We are excited to share these experiences that we love with our child. We are open to a child of any race or gender and are happy to have you involved in your child’s life. We are open to sharing photos, letters and occasional visits with you.
About Us
We met online, found a real connection, and were married the next year. We enjoy doing life together! Together we enjoy being outside gardening, bike riding, camping, and sitting around the campfire with our friends and family. Watching the Vikings play football and the Twins play baseball is also something that is fun for us. It is important that we have time together as a family doing things like eating meals together, playing games, having movie and pizza nights, and going on family vacations. We really look forward to bringing a child into our family to experience these things with us.
With our flexible work schedules and ability to work from home, we will not need daycare because one or both of us can always be home with our child. We always dreamed of becoming parents, so after almost 9 years of infertility we have felt God leading us to adoption to build our family. We are so excited to be a part of God’s bigger plan and grow our family through adoption!
My Husband, Shane
Eileen says: Shane has one of the kindest hearts. He loves people and is a friend to everyone. People are drawn to him and feel safe sharing their life story with him. Shane is a good listener, has a lot of wisdom to share, has a passion for politics, and stays current on what is going on in the world. Shane is really good at managing finances and makes wise investments. He started his own business 3 years ago where he buys and sells on eBay. He absolutely loves his job!
Shane has a lot of interests including hunting, fishing, playing video games, co-op games, shooting pool, gardening, taking care of house plants, thrift shopping or going to garage sales, and relaxing with one of our kitties on his lap. He has a really great relationship with his dad, and they talk at least several times a week. Shane really looks forward to sharing his passions and teaching your child things that he loves. He can’t wait to share the family tradition of going up to Northern Minnesota to go fishing for several days with our child. He will be an incredible dad someday.
My Wife, Eileen
Shane says: Eileen has a fun-loving personality that everyone enjoys! People are drawn to her because of how easy she is to be around. Eileen has her own homebirth midwifery practice that she enjoys very much. She is passionate about helping people, especially moms and babies, and loves that it is now part of her everyday work!
Traveling, camping, bike riding, playing games, and watching her favorite shows are the things that bring her joy. She loves to worship God through singing and playing the piano; she’s been involved in the music ministry at church since before I knew her. Eileen values her relationships with friends and family and has always wanted to be a mom so she can pass on the importance of family, faith and so much more. I know that Eileen looks forward to sharing future adventures with our child, and she will be a wonderful mother.
Our Family
We absolutely love our extended family! Everyone is so thrilled about our adoption and our 15 nieces and nephews are excited to welcome a new cousin. We live close to Shane’s family, so we see them regularly. He grew up with two younger sisters and Shane’s parents are very involved in their grandkids’ lives. When we get together, we enjoy playing cards, going swimming, hot tubbing, going on pontoon rides, tubing, ice skating, snowshoeing, cooking, and eating meals together.
Eileen’s family lives in California and we make trips out there at least once a year to visit them. Eileen’s mom visits us here every year as well. Eileen grew up with three older brothers. Her family lives in a gorgeous part of California where the redwood trees grow, and the ocean is only 10 minutes away. We look forward to taking our growing family on trips to California to make wonderful memories together.
Our Home in Minnesota
We live in a five-bedroom house on a corner lot in a wonderful small town in Southwest Minnesota. We have a large fenced in backyard with a nice deck and room to grill and hang out. In the summertime, we like to have backyard bonfires and bean bag tosses with neighbors and friends. We are within walking distance of parks, bike trails, the YMCA, and a short drive to a state park. We have been able to do some projects around the house, which makes it a really cozy home for us. Each night we try to eat a home-cooked meal together. There is so much love in our home to share and plenty of space for our growing family!
We both love it here because we are close to family and have made a lot of close friends. We also have 2 kitties named Jax and Max that we enjoy playing with and holding in our home.

| More About Our Family | ||
| Family Traditions | We love making family traditions. On Fridays we try to have movie nights. Then every weekend we sleep in and have slow mornings. We start off by drinking our coffee then we cook a nice big breakfast with farm fresh eggs, bacon, toast and a cup of orange juice. When the holidays come we decorate the house, hand out candy to kids at Halloween, and cook yummy foods and treats. During Christmas we go every year to cut down our tree, look at Christmas lights, go the Christmas Eve candlelight service at church, and try to remember what Christmas is all about. We are so excited to include our child in these traditions, but we look forward to making new ones as well! | |
| Our Faith | Our faith is the most important thing to us. We both try to do the best we can to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. We attend an Evangelical Free church every week. For many years Eileen was the worship leader, but is now attending with no leadership responsibilities. We also lead a small group every other week. We love the fellowship and encouragement that we get from gathering together. Our church has an amazing kids church and we look forward to seeing your child grow and learn all about God and how much He loves them. | |
| Our Pets | We have two cats that we absolutely adore, Jax and Max. Jax was our first kitty and then Max joined us a couple years later. It took a little time for Jax to warm up to having a brother, but after that they have been buddies ever since. Jax is an inside outside cat and loves to go outside and explore. He doesn't go far and always comes back when we call his name. He loves to go under the deck and eat grass. Max is an inside cat only and he loves to look out the windows and chase rabbits and birds from window to window. Max loves attention while Jax is more reserved. I think they both will adjust just fine to adding a baby in the home and eventually will love the baby! | |
| Fun Fact: We love camping! | Camping is something that we do every summer. There are so many beautiful state parks within an hour or so from us. We can't wait to take your baby on its first camping trip to one of our favorite parks, Lake Shetek. This park is right on the lake where we can kayak, swim, hike, and it is full of bike trails that we love to ride on. We have a pop-up camper and it has more than enough space for all of us. Shane has always talked about getting a carrier for our bikes so when we go bike riding he can pull the baby around. | |
